Griffith saves princess Charlotte when her horse bolts during a fox hunt (her horse was startled bya wild boar). Julius, the king's younger brother, attempts to have Griffith assassinated, but the assassin's arrow strikes Griffith's pendant (Behelit) instead and leaves him unharm. Griffith plots his revenge against count Julius.
