A one armed, one eyed swordsman, Gutts, saves a girl from thugs in a bar. The thugs were people who work for a cruel baron who rules and plaques the land. The baron turns out to be snake demon, a God Hand apostle. Gutts fight with that demon and defeats him. He takes the demon's pendant (Behelit) and walks away....
